24 Month Contracts

Minimum deposit of six months (non-refundable) rental in advance accompanying notarised contract. Payable by cheque, Cash or electronic Transfer of funds. At end of 18 months no rental charges will apply for next 6 (six) months.

60 Month Contracts

Minimum deposit of twelve months (non-refundable) rental in advance accompanying notarised contract. Payable by cheque, Cash or electronic Transfer of funds. At the end of 48 months no rental charges will apply for the following 12 (twelve) months.

Electricity usage will be apportioned along with standing charges and are payable by customer to SMAP. Usage will be invoiced by SMAP. Meter readings will be taken on a monthly basis.

 

Terms & Conditions

Effective from: Aug 2007

Proof of valid personal and equipment insurance cover must be submitted at earliest opportunity.

Commencement date set to time of receipt of signed contract and deposit at our office.

Current terms & conditions apply, supersede any previous T&C’s. New T&C’s will be mailed.

Inventory list of all customers own equipment installed on site, will be checked off on removal from site.

Both parties to have proof of inventory – in list form. All additions to customer’s equipment must be added to the inventory list conversely any equipment removed from site/observatory must be removed from inventory list and be supplied to SMAP ASAP.

Availability of set up advice/service from SMAP staff - hourly rate will be $40. This is a minimum charge and will apply for the first hour whether or not an hour is fully utilised, thereafter this hourly rate will be apportioned to number of half hours used.

Assistance with equipment problems can be provided. This service is chargeable at the hourly rate of $40. If the problem cannot be fixed on site, SMAP will advise owner ASAP and provide further assistance if required.

In cases where the customer has problems with dome control due power failures SMAP staff will endeavour to make the dome safe and call out appropriate engineer e.g. PVT or electrician. This is chargeable to customer. SMAP will only undertake this with prior agreement with customer.

No tampering with any onsite equipment either SMAP's or that belonging to other customers.

All additions to customers equipment must be added to the inventory and conversely any equipment removed must be removed from inventory.

Monthly Payment methods:

cleared cheque, standing order or electronic transfer

1 month unpaid - urgent reminder / warning of suspension of service

2 months unpaid - default on contract, suspension of service until all owed monies received

If continuing default then equipment held in charged storage until all monies settled

If continuing default past three months SMAP reserve the right to sell owners equipment to recover costs and allow for re-letting the site in question.

SMAP reserve the right to override usage of domes if unsuitable weather conditions prevail

SMAP and its employees will have no liability for damage to any equipment or domes on site due to lightening, thunderstorm, wildlife, vandalism or other act of God.

Any damage caused to SMAP or other customers equipment by personal or vehicular means will be responsibility of the person causing the damage

Signed disclaimer required for use of customer equipment deemed unsuitable for remote use by SMAP staff

Customers wishing to install their own domes must meet SMAP criteria( available on request).

No guarantee of obstruction free horizon, phased expansion of site will occur and SMAP will minimize any detrimental effects

Overnight stay facilities at the SMAP main ridge top building available whilst customers set up their equipment on site. Duration of stay typically 2 nights and must be booked in advance of visit. Visitors must supply own food. No charge will be levied for this service.

These terms and conditions may change without prior notice. Customers will be advised in writing if this happens. Valid as from 1st April 2007

Internet Service Options

SMAP has already installed the phone lines. Average service will be 756kbs. SMAP has made provision for the installation of fibre optic lines.

Customers must have their own personal insurance (including personal liability) cover whilst on site. Proof of insurance to be provided to SMAP

Customers not wishing to avail themselves of insurance cover provided by SMAP must have their own equipment cover insurance, either by extending their existing home insurance (please check with your current insurer) or by taking out a new separate policy.

SMAP insurance policy for a tenant will provide 1 mil liability, renting a dome from SMAP and $40,000 contents, no prior loss problems.
